Chris Demons

demonsOverlooked by scouts and undrafted after a stabdout career at Glenn Hills and Augusta State, Chris Demons played two seasons of professional baseball, including with the Toronto Blue Jays' Triple-A affiliate, the Syracuse Chiefs, in 2008. The speedy outfielder originally signed with the independent South Georgia Peanuts (Albany) in 2007 before catching the attention of scouts and signing with Toronto. In 2008, he was named to the New York-Penn League's American League All-Star Team as a member of the Auburn Doubledays and two weeks later got the call to Triple-A. Baseball America rated him the 10th best prospect in all of independent baseball after the 2007 season, and scouts compared him to Vince Coleman as one of the fastest players they had ever seen. Demons brings his knowledge of the game, enthusiasm and interest in helping young players to the staff at Best 9.
